Men too, feel the absolute need for contemporary fashion. Breaking records and endearing celebrities and masses alike, menswear designer Kunal Rawal tips the masculine scales with a bucolic industrial grunge mixed with luxurious fashion…

Kunal Rawal is perpetually in the limelight since his launch in 2006. Much sought after by A-list actors, corporate head honchos, and creative channel heads, his unique signature style dictates fashion play in wearable and peerless men’s garments – both, traditional and modern.

A smart innovative design style with an eye for detailing and his evergreen love for retro and military influences once again came to life at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013, where two dashing show stoppers - actors Shahid and Arjun Kapoor walked the ramp in his Karkhana (factory) inspired collection.

Drawing his creative ideas from unfinished garments, Kunal recommends tees and his latest line of shorts featuring hanger prints. His western and Indian lines are accompanied by crowshat, carton, paint prints along with hangers; while almost carelessly chic, his rather grungy line of shirt blazers, blousons, jackets, short-sleeve blazers and bundis in a range of chaotic prints urges  adoption by young males.

Sleeves with contrast lining; jackets with elbow length options; printed churidars bringing colour to the traditional garment; fitted trousers; and kurtas that almost look like shirts and are at times accessorized with ceramic bow-tie and waistcoat make up for his other offerings.

Detailing – his USP, comes in the form of tuxedo collars for kurtas, contrast knit sleeves, soft patched sherwanis, and zippered racing suits. Fake jacket lapels and flap pockets make for smart detailing to khaki shirts. Completing the silhouette, Kunal recommends loafers, Kolapuris, boots, mule with prints and footwear in striking colours for the perfect balance.

With the colour palette earthy - beige, brown, military green, red, black and mustard for shirts, trousers, jackets, waistcoats and blousons; and the fabric choice ideal for summer wear - metallics, crinkle cotton, suede, silk, and cotton, Kunal Rawal’s “sharply cut with edgy fine tailoring collection” proffers many innovative options.

  2. Everyone has his own fashion choice. Men have less choices than women. Men generally wear shirt, pant, sherwani, suits, dhoti, lehenga, kurta. Youth of India becoming more conscious about their living style.

  4. Garments embellishment with bead work is another area where it in demand in the international market. Beads are used to prepare garlands and other accessory items like belts and bags and these patterns now available for haute couture evening wear too. According to a survey, in recent times Indian women have given up their traditional sari for western wears like t-shirts and shorts, as they feel more comfortable in skirts and trousers instead of saris and salwar kameez.
