Foot Couture: It’s time to go gaga over sole wear!

The glamorised jutti is fizzying it up while it remains true to its vintage form. What stands out is that each stylish sole is a bold and brilliant detour from the usual!

Remember the sore toes and shoe-bites that the pretty, yet pretty-uncomfortable juttis brought with them when you wore them years ago? 

Cut to 2020. 

The traditional footwear has undergone a rather sassy makeover, masquerading as spin-offs of brogues, sliders, heeled versions and more, in comfortable U cuts with laces, and prices that make you go gaga over sole wear.

Handcrafted juttis are the haute buzz phrase in foot couture with carefully pleated braids, colour pops in wild tassels, virtual jewellery for your feet with charms sewn on, and layering a la Bali Bellini, bringing in applique work to lend them unique textures (with soft silk nestling on hard leatherette). Hot in the heels of the reinvented kolhapuri, in wedges and stiletto versions, the contemporised modish jutti has comfort on the top of the list.

Forget the erstwhile bland umbers. The colour palette abounds in enticing candy colours, sandy tones, metallic sheens, velvety blacks, ivory goodness... Local artisans from Rajasthan make their mark in the delicate dabka work that emerges with a configuration of tiny pearls in the Fizzy Goblet juttis created in collaboration with fashion designer Payal Singhal. Catering to diverse references, the collection includes botanical prints on denims, rubber soles for monsoon friendly juttis, open back juttis with elastic straps, traditional mirror work on a neutral jute base in pastels...etc.

Special Bridal and Normal Boxes

It is this pairing of counter-intuitive materials and techniques that fascinates and challenges the brand’s every new collection.  As part of the zero-waste policy, leftover scraps are upcycled into scrunchies and hairbands that are gifted to the equally conscientious Fizzy Goblet clients. Much like their re-usable novel boxes that are re-purposed in Insta friendly ways!
