In descending order, here are three features that have struck deep resonance with our team…

Small can be very beautiful indeed! The word in its various connotations – frugal, small in size, trivial… can actually go a long way in making a big difference. Architects Goutaman and Madhini Prathaban of studio Architecture Interspace design this dessert parlour in Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, where a simple ceiling intervention and colour make a splash that speaks volumes for the design and décor. The enhancing feature is its 40ft. seamless glass façade that fosters passers-by/ viewer and diner interaction among other things…

A need, a mandate, bus stop designs have been explored within certain limited parameters – without really changing the original design thought. Yet, Studio Cepezed’s design of the self-sufficient bus station in Tilburg, The Netherlands, is a sustainable, self-sufficient model that can perhaps make for a global revolution.

Storytelling is an art that today, in a world gone viral, is in constant demand; also, in a state of constant flux. Given that the art permeates our very being in its various forms – advertisement, feature, social media post, visual, audio, video, meme, etc…, this scenography by Didzis Jaunzems Architecture for Latvia’s centenary celebration was simply breath-taking.
The stage as a storyteller holds a mirror to life – to the multifarious nuances that touch us, go unnoticed and resurface again – as we acknowledge their indelible impact on our sensibilities. Can we then separate reel from real? Does the surreal hold a promise that we cannot let go? What are we holding on to; and why?...
This feature resonates as an abstract from the page called life!
