Modelled strictly according to the individual tastes of the homeowners, the nameplate is perhaps the most unique and personalised item of a household. It is also the most special gift that can be given.

Your nameplate could be in the form of a plaque put next to your entrance, on the door or the door itself! A very trendy way of announcing your home is to paint your door in a riot of colours and scratch your family name or the names of the inmates on it.

Basics: The script or ‘lettering style’ is the main thing here – it could be decorative, block style or even a stylistic script – English written in a Hindi style with a line above. Language is another factor to be considered although most nameplates are in English.

Materials: Polished brass, unpolished stone, rustic wood, acrylic sheet, cast aluminium with relief, beaten brass, beaten copper, ceramic, terracotta, glass, a combination of glass with timber, and several other combinations, the options are endless…

Design Factors: Whether you prefer a traditional look or something more contemporary, it is always advisable to have your nameplate custom-made to your requirement. Right from the name suggestion - whether the couple’s names itself, the family name, names of the individual members, to names of flowers or the seasons; or even inspired from your natural surroundings; your nameplate goes on to herald the essence that your home sets out to achieve. Remember, your nameplate has to complement the home within – it cannot be at a totally different design tangent altogether.
