India Pavillion at Designersblock, London Design Festival 2015

1. What exactly is this festival intended at, is it a B2C or a B2B kind of a show or both? Or is it a design conference with workshops and seminars etc?
It is largely a global B2B opportunity. One also sees a healthy B2C interaction.

2. How are the exhibitors going to benefit?
Participants can benefit by:
· Forging new contacts with industry internationals from the architect, design and building community
· Unrivalled media coverage -– domestic and international; print and online media platforms. Plus there is considerable media promotion by the Designersblock and India Art n Design ezine.
· Exposure to latest international trends
· Interaction with emerging and established practicing artists and designers from around the globe
· Chance to get listed on Designersblock website, feature on indiaartndesign.com, designersblock catalogue and chance of sale throughclippings.com/designersblock and more.
3. Will there be retail /sales on the show or will there be a chance to contract/collaborate with potential partners for a long term business relationship?
It is ideally an opportunity to contract/collaborate with potential partners for a long term business relationship. The visitor profile is one where a lot of architects, designers, manufacturers come looking for good design.
There can be retail at the exhibition.
4. What is the selection based on?

5. The brochure you sent mentions stall space rates viz 2000 pounds and 1000 pounds plus 20% UK vat for 10 sq.mts and 5 sq.mts respectively, will there be an additional cost for stay/accommodation ,food, transport/travel during the festival and if so how much?
The cost of 1000 £ is for shell space only. Additional infrastructure like walls, counters, tables etc. plus VAT will be charged as applicable.
The costs of travel, food, accommodation will be separate from the stall space and will be borne by you. We are working on certain cost-effective packages that cover logistics and travel. We will soon revert to you on these details as well.

6. The product to be carried to the show will have to be cargo-ed by the participant or through you?
As we mentioned in Q.4 above, we are in talks with logistics partners for competitive packages.
All cargo will be dispatched ex-Mumbai and will have to reach our Official Logistics Partner by 31st Aug.’15. The cargo charges from your place to Mumbai will have to be borne by you and will not be included in the package that we will be offering.
The earlier you finalize your participation and payment, the sooner we can proceed with all formalities.
7. Air tickets and visa have to be arranged by the participants or will they be arranged by your company for the whole contingent as a group?
As we mentioned in Q.4 above, we are in talks with airline partners for competitive packages.
All travel bookings to London will be made ex-Mumbai.
The block bookings that we are tentatively working on are:
Mumbai-London: 19th / 20th Sept.’15 (tentatively)
London-Mumbai: 28th / 29th Sept.’15 (tentatively)
Regarding the visa, you will have to apply for your visa at your own cost. However, Designersblock will issue a letter of invitation to all the participants.
8. What kind of visa do I need to apply for?
You need to apply for C Type Business Visit Visa. The link for filling the online application for UK Visa is:
9. What happens to my participation in case I do not get the visa?
In case you cannot travel, we can arrange for a representative for you in London. Skilled labour can be arranged in London for exhibition setup as well. Please note: All labour will be billed hourly in £
10. Do we have to pay the full stall fees in advance or in part subject to issuance of visa?
Yes, you have to pay 100%.
11. Do I make the payment in Indian Rupees or UK £?
Payment is to be made in UK £. Bank details will be provided. All payments to be made via Bank Transfer only
12. Other documents and formalities required, if any?
· Please send a representation of the work that you plan to showcase at the India Pavillion 2015 either through images or a web link.
· Area that you would like to book
· How do you plan to display your products? Do you have any specific requirements like wall space? Suspensions from ceiling etc?
· Please indicate clearly whether you would like help with logistics, travel and accommodation or you would rather organize these for yourself?
· Once you are sure that you are participating, we will require your complete updated resume / profile, your brief design philosophy, references of your work that you will be showcasing at the India Pavilion.
· Once your participation is confirmed, we would require images of your work in high resolution 300 dpi, in tiff/jpg format, of minimum print size 10 x 12 inch and a portrait of yourself for press promotions.
