You don’t need white sand, turquoise seas and tropical weather to unwind. These outdoor decks by ZZ Architects have got you covered.
Architects Krupa Zubin and Zubin Zainuddin take inspiration from artistic disciplines to refine spaces. Their experimentation with styles and space itself results in projects that constantly reinvent experiences. Their outdoor spaces are no exception.
The first is an 1800 sq. ft. terrace of a penthouse (image above). Leveraging the picturesque view that it offers, the designers conceived the swimming pool to be the highlight of the space. The carefully sourced mosaic tiles give the pool a luminous appearance, whereas the wooden deck and white rover that flanks it, adds warmth. With fibre optic lighting and LEDs embedded in the stones, it’s like having a piece of the sky to yourself.

The next outdoor space belongs to a bungalow. Half-an-acre in area, the deck includes a garden, while the home looks into it. It flaunts great visual connect with the indoors, with fragmented bolsters lighting the threshold. Unconventional seating with bright furnishing sets the space apart and the use of wooden tile, granite and natural lawn add beauty to the landscape. With the floor lamps leaving a trail of soft light, this space is cosy and open, all at once.

The last one is a 2500 sq. ft. deck that extends from under the porch. An infinity pool clad in white, glass mosaic tiles reflect the water’s true colours. The wooden ceiling with its spotlights complements the red, cherry-toned, porous-textured wood of the deck and the full-height travertine walls, while the cabana and dining chairs in white, balance the warmth of the earthy materials. The wooden lounge in the corner sits against a landscaped backdrop, creating a comfy nook.
These outdoor spaces not only blend with the environment but also redefine comfort and leisure with their luxurious, stimulating designs.
