A signature concept of form and colour enhancing simplicity and peculiarity, Aesthetics Beauty Clinic allures you to enter out of sheer curiosity…

Architect Parth Chitte of Chitte Architects explores a psychological approach to refurbish this 900 sq. ft. salon in Vadodara, with its inherent challenge of a beam-heavy low ceiling, to transform it into a trend setter.

Located on the first floor, an attractive glass façade along with bold graphic signage provokes entry into a dynamic space… commanding a glance all around… in this tasteful design drama. Lighting, as a key feature, is exploited to the maximum to establish a distinctive ambience.

Taking away completely from the exposed dark ceiling with deep beams, a wide spectrum of abstract downlighters from robotic arm extensions illumine the space; ably complemented by peripheral mirror lights, concealed spots, niche mood lights in the spa, uplighters and track lights for displays. Abstract profile lights carved into the reception and signage create geometric dynamism and… a sense of awe.

Coming to the space planning - the mandatory gender-based segregation by drop-down screens for privacy and zoning of well-appointed stations augments spaciousness. The waiting area, floor-to-ceiling display of colourful merchandise and treatment offerings, engages the customer while cleverly partitioning off the treatment area.

Colour assists zoning as the spa is defined in natural pine whilst a neutral colour palette of white and grey set off by striking turquoise blue tapestry adds zing to the understated ambience. Random Aqua hued mosaic on the floor and walls define placements for easy guidance, whilst graphic signage in black and white with a dash of red grabs eyeballs. On cue, material choices are restricted to simple and natural… plywood, metal, glass, mirrors, wood and ceramics for functional efficiency and elegance.

The architect has skillfully infused subtlety in the design for that ‘something’ to transform the ordinary into extra-ordinary.
