Group DCA designs a contemporary open-plan co-working space in Saket, Delhi that promotes the spirit of collaboration, creativity and productivity…

A major consideration in the design was value engineering that sought to deliver a functional yet design-driven space within the limited budget. The New Delhi-based architectural and design firm turned this constraint into an opportunity to deliver a youthful, easy to move-in office space that brims with energy and encourages productivity.

A mixed palette of natural materials, colours and textures creates a symphony within this unassuming space that carries a bare aesthetic. The walls are raised in raw concrete blocks and brick cladding, and the wooden ceiling, besides contributing to the rustic theme, also serves to treat the space acoustically. Lamps of varied sizes in a gun-metal finish add to the rustic atmosphere.

Counters in mango wood with a steel black skinner finish lend a contemporary yet warm and inviting aesthetic, while an eclectic mix of chairs lined along a central community table expresses diversity within the co-working space.

Furthering the collaborative nature of this space are ropes that demarcate workstations, while simultaneously allowing for visual access. The use of spot lighting is yet another element that enhances productivity within the workplace on the part of group DCA.
All in all, JD Office fosters collaboration and creates an environment in line with the ideology, work ethic and lifestyle choices of the younger generation.
