Located in Hyderabad’s Jayabheri Orange County, the 3300-sq. ft. high-end apartment is designed in tandem with the client’s lifestyle, their aesthetic sensibilities and the glorious view the apartment offers.

Working on a minimalist-juxtaposed-with-uber-chic style statement, a neutral palette of grey and white envelopes the home with tried-and-tested pops of colour. The pre-dominant use of white lends a spacious and serene ambience as the living, dining and open kitchen act as one seamless volume with unique feature walls, false ceiling and floor patterns that set each space apart.

Designed for a family, who’ve lived abroad and needed to adapt the best of traditional and contemporary outlooks, careful selection of material announces a home theatre, wet and dry kitchens as well as a puja room – all opening up to the seamlessness, instead of shying away.

Of particular interest is the all-white master bedroom with its all-round canopied bed that makes a silent statement of being up-to-the-minute, yet seeped in antiquity. Adjoining it, the master bath takes on a completely contemporary twist with its partial-glass walls.

The home is adorned with affluent drop lights, white organic cabinetry and minimal styling. Using granite and grey vitrified tiles in combination with white marble in the flooring of common spaces and the master bedroom, wood becomes the flooring choice in other areas. This achieves visual balance, sobriety, while bringing out the beauty of the simplest materials through contrast and harmony. In its entirety, the materials used, maintain a balance between clean modern lines and rich cultural aura.

Augmenting the interiors is plenty of natural light flowing in through large fenestrations that also usher in the outside view in the high-rise home.

The architect rises to the challenge of a highly understated design vocabulary, finely balancing the equation between simple chic and luxury.
