Untamed
waves, sand and sun, and billowing beach wear – fashion designer Babita Malkani
showcased her metaphoric designs at the recently concluded India Resort Fashion
Week…
Inspired
from the Spanish island Ibiza and aptly christened Beach Bonita, Babita
Malkani’s lounge wear and beach wear collection showcased at the first ever
India Resort Fashion week (IRFW), held from 7th to 10th
December, 2011 in Goa was a runaway success. Materials like lycra, silk, georgette, crochet, and chiffons
combine in beach hues of taupe, grey, ivory, corals and ultramarine blue to
create sinuous garbs, prudently cut to give enticing outlines.
The collection - a mesmerizing blend of playful designs and
elegant hues signifies different elements of the sand, sun and sea; and are
fashionably speckled with glittering sequins, intricate crochet patchworks,
dangling fringes, appliqués and cut work leaving the wearer awestruck with her
own resort look – chic and trendy!
Babita uses a stylized dyeing technique that prettifies each
feature of the garment, bringing out fluidity in the collection that makes it a
luxurious fusion of easy-to-wear yet appealing silhouette range, which includes
Palazzo jumpsuits, drape dresses, dresses, kaftans, unfussy and wearable tops,
tunics and wide pajama pants in a representation of exuberance and freedom.
Available
at Babita Malkani flagship store, the collection in Babita's words, “Is all about comforting flair, invites you to let your hair
down, flaunt the creative cuts with spontaneous vigour and keep the fashionable
experience going!”
